This morning i finally received my invite to try out Google's
new (although still very early beta stage) cloud storage platform.
After signing up with my invite, I was extremely impressed how simple it was to get started
and upload some files through the web interface (compared to Amazon's S3 web interface which
is extremely sluggish at the best of times)
The pricing is 17c per gigabyte per month and bandwidth ranges from 15c per gigabyte to 30c
per gigabyte depending on geographic location. It seems a little overpriced as Amazon's S3 storage
starts at 14c per gigabyte per month and can drop as low as 5.5c per gigabyte.
Although there is a bit of a price difference, I can see in the near future that competition between
Google Developer Storage and Amazon S3 will increase and drive prices a lot lower.
